We planned to start recording this group of pieces the week that ended up being the first week we all realized that COVID-19 was going to have a major effect on our lives. Obviously, we reconvened after things "lightened up," for better or worse, got a schedule together, and recorded these pieces. I am quite proud of how they turned out, and am grateful for the learning experience I got from collaborating with some incredibly talented and patient individuals.

This little release is called "pieces," because the songs are literally just that: Individualized fragments of sound that have no over-arching theme and no correlation other than originating from my head and hands. I never intended for them to be one unit, as they seemed to stand just fine in their own little spaces. I think we did them justice.

Hopefully, someone will listen to these at some point, and zone out, because it took them somewhere... whether that be in a memory or a daydream. Given how this year has turned out so far, I believe we can all be afforded some form of escapism. After all, these songs were born out of my own little spaces, and now they're yours to visit. Wherever you end up, I do hope you'll stop to say hello.
